March Notices for: 7th & 8th Grades


Please buy your constitution booklet by next week. 

 7th Grade: Think Colonies   Some of the key vocabulary to master-Purple Group- Burgess, representative government, Magna Carta, Parliament, cosmopolitan, raided, dreadful, haven Blue Group-harsh, restraints, haven, theocracy, resident
Be prepared to analyze maps, take notes on video presentations, research, read, and discuss the colonies. Later we will discover why the "witch trials," took place in Salem, MA.Final Project-booklet or power point on the colonies. Federal Constitution starting soon!

8th Grade: Think Early Cities and Jane Adams   Some of the key vocabulary to master: horrid, tuberculosis, deformed, sympathetic, disadvantage, seminary, strenuous, traumatic, drifted, crooked, frail, inheritance, tenements, roamed, sweatshops
We will be reading and looking for cause/effects, and problems/solutions within the city structure. Also, we will further discover how Jacob Riise and Jane Adams,  impacted social awareness in the city during the 1900s.State Constitution starting soon!
